Advice

For your safety and enjoyment please follow the advice given below.

  • Safety –- This is our first priority. It is essential that for all off-piste experiences you have a transceiver, shovel and probe even though you are unlikely ever to use them in a live situation. If you don’t already own this equipment it can be hired locally. Don’t worry if you haven’It used it before as we always provide a demonstration before going off-piste.
  • Insurance –- You must have adequate insurance cover for guided off-piste sports. Most insurance companies will provide this for a small fee on top of your normal travel insurance.
  • Fitness –- Although you don’t need to be an athlete you will enjoy the experience more if you have a reasonable level of fitness.
  • Equipment –- Use equipment which best suits your ability. For skiers we recommend wide skis although full on powder skis are not necessary. They will help maintain your fitness.
  • Hydration –- Keep hydrated and energised by carrying plenty of water and snacks in your backpack. You’ll be surprised what difference this can make.
